FATIM CISSÉ, NEW CEO OF IHS CAMEROON, MEETS TRB DG AT THE PLATINUM BUILDING

On January 14, 2026, Professor Philémon Zoo Zame, Director General of Cameroon’s Telecommunications Regulatory Board (TRB), held a meeting with Fatim Cissé, newly appointed CEO of IHS Cameroon.
During the audience, the TRB Director General welcomed her appointment and voiced confidence in her ability to tackle the sector’s pressing challenges, particularly the improvement of service quality (QoS). He emphasized that Cameroon’s telecom regulations are currently being revised, paving the way for a modernized legal and institutional framework.
Fatim Cissé—recognized as the first Ivorian graduate in artificial intelligence, founder of DUX Côte d’Ivoire, and CEO of IHS Towers Côte d’Ivoire since 2020—expressed her appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening collaboration between IHS Cameroon and TRB. She also announced that her company will soon unveil its 2026 action plan, highlighting Cameroon’s billing and network coverage systems as benchmarks for the industry.
IHS Cameroon, a subsidiary of IHS Towers, has been a major player in the country’s telecom sector since 2012. The company builds and manages shared telecom towers for leading mobile operators, driving QoS improvements through infrastructure upgrades, innovative energy solutions, and proactive site maintenance. It also invests in community initiatives, such as the local service kiosks launched in 2024, designed to bring telecom services closer to rural populations.
With more than 29,700 towers across nine international markets, IHS has established itself as a strategic partner in advancing modernization and digital inclusion.
This meeting marked an important step in consolidating institutional partnerships and accelerating innovation within Cameroon’s telecommunications sector.
