PATNUC HANDS OVER TWO QOS MONITORING PLATFORMS TO TRB

The Platinum Building, headquarters of the Telecommunications Regulatory Board (TRB), hosted on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, the official handover ceremony of two platforms dedicated to monitoring the quality of service (QoS) in electronic communications networks.

Chaired by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Minette Libom Li Likeng, the event marked a decisive milestone in strengthening TRB’s technical capacity. It brought together the National Coordinator of Cameroon’s Digital Transformation Acceleration Project (PATNUC), a representative of the World Bank—partner in the initiative—the Director General of TRB and his deputy, along with numerous institutional leaders and medias.

In his opening remarks, TRB’s Director General, Professor Philémon Zoo Zame, emphasized the importance of this handover, which will enable the Board to enhance its regulatory framework and more effectively monitor the quality of services provided to Cameroonian citizens.

Following the detailed presentation by PATNUC’s National Coordinator, Dr. Fuaye Kenji Winfred Mfuh, on the technical specifications of the QoS monitoring equipment transferred to TRB, the Minister reminded participants that network quality is both a fundamental right for users and a prerequisite for national competitiveness. She stressed that this initiative is part of Cameroon’s broader digital transformation strategy—one of the flagship development priorities of the Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya.

Launched in March 2023, PATNUC aims to accelerate the country’s digital transition. Its objectives include strengthening infrastructure, promoting digital inclusion, modernizing public services, and fostering an innovative ecosystem that benefits both businesses and citizens.
The handover of the QoS monitoring platforms is a tangible expression of this ambition, equipping TRB with modern tools to ensure rigorous oversight of electronic communications networks in Cameroon.

The ceremony concluded with the formal signing of the handover documents—a symbolic act sealing the commitment of all stakeholders to work together toward a reliable and inclusive digital environment. This milestone represents a significant step forward in the government’s and its partners’ determination to make digital technology a driver of growth and innovation in Cameroon.
